The Commonwealth House will be delivered in partnership between the City of Gold Coast and Office of Commonwealth Games with a key strategic partnership with the Commonwealth Secretariat.
The Office of Commonwealth Games (OCG) leads a coordinated approach to the Queensland Government’s delivery of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. OCG leads the Queensland Government state-wide program Embracing 2018 to maximise the legacy benefits from hosting the Commonwealth Games as well as the development of a state-wide arts and cultural program.
The City of Gold Coast (City) is the second largest local government in Australia, based on the Gold Coast’s estimated resident population. The City provides a range of services, organisations, activities and facilities for residents and visitors to enjoy. The City has established a Commonwealth Games unit and will be responsible for the majority of activities involving city operations for the Gold Coast, festival and city legacy, and is the asset owner of many of the venues.
The Commonwealth Secretariat provides guidance on policy making, technical assistance and advisory services to Commonwealth member countries. They support governments to help achieve sustainable, inclusive and equitable development.
